HIGHLIGHTS
A seasoned mariner with nearly 50 years' experience from apprentice through
ship's master, and senior administrative positions in the shipping industry.

Extensive experience with offshore and coastal shipping operations along the
Pacific coast of North America, with special emphasis on safe shipping of
forest and petroleum products.

23 years' experience with Canadian Transport Co. Ltd., responsible for the
corporation's fleet of over seventy deep-sea ships, tugs, and barges, operating
from California to Alaska, and Hawaii.

Expert in all aspects of maritime safety, environmental regulations and practices.
Routinely liaised with Canadian and US authorities including Coast Guards,
Transport Canada, pilotage authorities, ships agents and others.

Operations specialist. Coordinated barge and truck deliveries of bunker fuels to
ships in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and San Francisco.
Independent Marine Consultant 1992-2001
Provided professional consulting services to Canadian and overseas clients on
bunkering, maintenance, dry docking, and route planning and analysis for
shipping and barging operations.

Canadian Transport Co. Ltd (division of MacMillan Bloedel), Vancouver 1969-1992
General Superintendent, Nanaimo 1988-1992
Overall operational responsibility for loading of deep sea vessels.
Liaised with authorities & regulators. Implemented safety/emergency plans and upgrades.
